Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Steel-Cut Oatmeal

Cook Time: 6 Hours

 

Ingredients:

-Cooking spray or coconut oil (for coating the slow cooker)

-1 C. organic steel cut oats (or gluten-free steel cut oats)

-2½ C. water

-1½ C. Unsweetened vanilla almond milk

-1 C. chopped apple pieces

-1 TBSP. real maple syrup + 5 drops of liquid stevia (or other sweetener of choice)

-1 tsp. vanilla

-1 tsp. cinnamon

-1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)

-1/4 tsp. sea salt

-Chopped raw walnuts (or raw slivered almonds), coconut sugar, or dried or fresh fruit to sprinkle on top when eating

Directions:

  1. Coat slow cooker with cooking spray or coconut oil. Add all ingredients into slow cooker and mix well. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  2. Place in bowl to serve. Top your serving with some nuts, coconut sugar, and/or dried fruit
